Job Description

Arditi Design, a residential interior design studio in the heart of New York City, is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Designer & Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position offers a unique opportunity to contribute creatively while gaining valuable project management experience.

As a Junior Designer, you will assist in the development and execution of innovative interior design concepts. You will produce detailed drawings, mood boards, and presentations. Your responsibilities will include sourcing materials, selecting furnishings, and coordinating with vendors to ensure all design elements align with the project's aesthetic and functional goals. A keen eye for detail, a passion for design, and proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite are essential for success in this role.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the seamless execution of projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for maintaining project timelines, coordinating with contractors and suppliers, and ensuring that all phases of the project are completed on schedule and within budget. Effective communication and organizational skills are critical, as you will serve as a liaison between clients, designers, and contractors to facilitate smooth project workflows.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in interior design or a related field, along with 2-5 years of professional experience in interior design. A proactive attitude, the ability to multitask, and a strong desire to learn and grow within the company are highly valued.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Interior Design, or related discipline
- Must have 2-5 years of previous work experience in residential interior design or related industry
- Must be highly proficient in AutoCad
- Comfortable using in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace, and Adobe Suite (specifically Photoshop)
- Experienced in sourcing from to-the-trade design showrooms and NYC resources
- Proficient in sourcing furniture, decorative lighting, textiles, and window treatments
- Basic knowledge of FF&E specification and construction
- Ability to develop designs including furniture plans, lighting and paint schedules, product selection and specification, and presentation to clients
- Current knowledge of trends in interior design
- Excellent organizational skills, including keeping track of instructions and revisions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to take direction, learn quickly, multi-task, and work independently
- Effective problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting production issues, sourcing alternatives, finding solutions, and resolving conflicts

APPRECIATED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Quickbooks and Squarespace is a plus but not mandatory
- Familiarity with the New York City area, comfortable with regional travel for installations and adapted hours when installing projects or assisting photoshoots
- A valid driver’s license is preferred but not mandatory
