Marina Hanisch Interiors is seeking a freelance interior architectural drafter with a refined eye and exceptional technical expertise—someone who understands that thoughtful drawings lay the foundation for beautiful, lasting design. This role blends precision with artistry, supporting our team through site documentation, detailed construction drawings, and evocative 3D visualizations.
We are looking for a collaborator who can confidently visit project sites throughout Westchester, capture accurate measurements, and translate them into clear, elegant drawing sets across AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit. The ideal candidate is deeply organized, technically fluent, and attuned to the rhythm of a design studio that values both rigor and beauty.
Responsibilities
Conduct on-site measurements and surveys with accuracy and care.
Produce high-quality 2D floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings in AutoCAD.
Develop complete drawing sets for contractor pricing, permitting, and active construction.
Create SketchUp models and presentation-ready renderings (SketchUp + Enscape).
Maintain drafting standards and organized digital file structures across all active projects.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clarity, consistency, and precision.
Communicate effectively with the internal design team and anticipate coordination needs.
Identify design discrepancies or missing information before they impact the project schedule.
Qualifications
Exceptional proficiency in AutoCAD; strong modeling and rendering skills in SketchUp, Revit, and Enscape.
Experience preparing construction-ready drawings and contractor bid sets.
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail.
A proactive problem-solver who follows direction precisely and thrives with minimal oversight.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving studio environment.
Ability to commute to project sites in Westchester for in-person surveys and as-needed visits.
