Job Description

Studio Meghan Eisenberg is growing! And we are looking for an experienced designer with strong project management skills to support the Principal on interiors projects from the pre-schematic phase through design development, purchasing, and installation. We seek an exceptional candidate who not only has a passion for design, but is highly organized and deadline oriented. As an Intermediate Designer & Project Manager you will be focused on design development and documentation - including the creation of interior architectural drawings and other supporting documents, as well as project coordination and execution - managing the project from start to finish. We have a very collaborative design environment and appreciate a good laugh whilst working diligently to exceed Client expectations.

Design Development and Documentation:
- Create design presentations and other visual design documentation as needed to express design intent
- Produce technical and construction documentation, including floor plans, electrical plans, RCP, finish elevations, and millwork drawings to illustrate design intent and material usage
- Architectural schedules: finish, plumbing, appliance and lighting
- Keep project binders, schedules and drawings sets coordinated and up to date
- Furniture layouts, custom furniture design and furniture elevations

Project Management and Execution:
- Take initiative and incur responsibility for projects, including budgets, schedules, meetings and deadlines
- Participate in team meetings and construction site visits and maintain meeting notes/documentation for internal record keeping
- Manage project procurement for FF&E – client fund requests, create & process purchase orders, track budget & client spending, and manage deliveries, storage inventories, and installations
- Manage project timelines with vendor production lead times to ensure a timely installation
- Maintain quality control throughout the project

Job Requirements

- Bachelor or Master’s degree in interior design or architecture
- 5+ years experience in high end interior design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, Adobe Creative Suite
- In depth knowledge of architectural conventions, including plans, elevations, sections, construction details, lighting design, and millwork design
- Experience with high end furniture purchasing processes and budget management
- A passion for design and a commitment to excellence
- Express a desire to source new products and develop innovative design solutions
- The ability to think strategically and methodically in a creative environment
- A desire to support and strengthen the success of teammates
- A willingness to wear multiple hats (small design team)
- Self starter and resourceful problem solver
- Ability to create and implement systems for maximum productivity and creativity
- Strong communication, organization, and meticulous attention to detail
