CHH is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, motivated Design Assistant to support the Interior Design Director at our NYC office. As a Design Assistant, you will be responsible for the ordering, tracking, and installation of items for various projects – from apartments to sets – and partnered closely with our design team. You will work with vendors and clients throughout the entire life of a project, with multiple tasks and responsibilities at given time in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Work in tandem with Project Lead to ensure projects run smoothly from conceptualization to completion.

Responsibilities:

● Send Purchase Proposals to clients for approval and Purchase Orders to vendors for implementation
● Track orders: request quotes and information from vendors, maintain updated information in Studio Designer, make purchases and ensure items are completed in good manner and communicated properly both internally and externally
● Source and specify FFE (furniture, lighting, vendors, materials, etc) where necessary
● Draft furniture plans, elevations, details and custom furniture drawings
● Liaise with third-party shipping vendors and storage facilities
● Frequent job sites and vendor visits with clients, contractors, subcontractors, etc.
● Prepare for client meetings involving presentations and samples
● Maintain FFE schedules and installs

General Duties:

● Maintain general knowledge regarding client budget and billing
● Ability to clearly communicate ideas verbally, in writing and sketching both internally and externally
● Assert Project Lead with appropriate project priorities and deadlines
● Assist NYC interiors or architecture team on an as-need basis
● Maintain and organize project related samples and physical documents

Job Requirements:
● Professional Degree in arts related field, Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture preferable
● Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign), AutoCad, Google Suite, required
● Studio Designer, AutoCAD 3D or SketchUp, a plus
● Knowledge in Airtable & Harvest, a plus
● Applicants should be highly organized with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time effectively
● Strong problem solving skills and a positive, "can-do" attitude
