Job Description

Selldorf Architects is an internationally recognized architecture and interior design firm based in New York City’s Union Square. The firm’s portfolio spans a broad range of project types and scales, including high-end residential, cultural, and institutional work, encompassing both new construction and the sensitive renovation of historically significant buildings.

We are currently seeking an Entry-Level Interior Designer for full-time employment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility, curiosity about materials and interiors, and a thoughtful approach to spatial composition and detail. We are looking for a motivated and highly organized individual who is eager to contribute within a collaborative and design-focused studio environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on carefully considered interiors with a strong emphasis on architecture, furniture, art, and material integration.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist with the development of interior design concepts for residential, cultural, and institutional projects.
• Support project teams in the preparation of presentations, renderings, finish palettes, and material research.
• Assist in developing furniture layouts, finish selections, and interior design documentation.
• Prepare drawings, presentation materials, and visual studies using digital and hand-drawing techniques.
• Conduct research on furniture, materials, finishes, fixtures, and decorative elements.
• Support coordination with vendors, fabricators, consultants, and internal project teams.
• Assist with procurement coordination, purchase orders, and project tracking utilizing Studio Designer software.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, and installation coordination as required.
• Contribute thoughtfully to the collaborative design process and studio culture.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline required.
• 0–3 years of professional experience in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
• Strong design sensibility and interest in sophisticated interior environments.
• Excellent graphic, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute proactively to project work.
• Strong conceptual thinking and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit required; experience with Rhino or other 3D modeling software is desirable.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Familiarity with furniture, materials, art, and decorative arts is highly valued.
• Ability to communicate design ideas clearly through drawings, renderings, presentations, and verbal communication.
• Strong work ethic, professionalism, curiosity, and enthusiasm for design.
Selldorf Architects follows a hybrid work model based out of our New York City Union Square office, with in-office presence required Monday through Thursday and the option to work remotely on Fridays.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000–$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications, in addition to a discretionary quarterly bonus.
