The Role:
We’re seeking a Junior Interior Designer / Design Assistant who is detail-obsessed, highly organized, and passionate about high-end residential design. This role supports our senior designers across all phases of a project—from concept to installation—and requires someone who can juggle tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:
Support senior designers in all stages of residential design projects
Assist in creating mood boards, presentations, and sourcing materials
Draft basic floor plans and elevations in AutoCAD (millwork detailing not required)
Coordinate procurement tasks, vendor quotes, deliveries, and returns
Maintain accurate budgets, proposals, and project documentation
Track samples, organize the library, and keep records up-to-date
Attend job site visits and installations (includes occasional heavy lifting!)
Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and contractors
Manage calendars, scheduling, and follow-up logistics for projects
Degree in Interior Design or related field
1–3 years of experience (internships in high-end residential design considered)
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Studio Designer (required)
Solid grasp of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and comfortable on Mac
Meticulously organized, proactive, and self-directed
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
Positive attitude, polished appearance, and excellent client-facing demeanor
Comfortable with regular travel to New York City and Greater New York area job sites
Reliable car and valid driver’s license
