JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Marketing (DM) is a strategic member of the Cohen Design Centers’ management team. The DM is charged with building and implementing innovative brand platforms and business development initiatives driving bottom-line growth and revenue while strengthening trade/consumer/media engagement for the Decoration & Design Building brand on a regional/national front. Additionally, the DM is responsible for executing a strategic 360º marketing plan leveraging events, promotions, communications, social media and digital tactics to secure high-yield results among top-tier stakeholders in the high-end, A&D category.
Responsibilities:
-Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to position the Decoration & Design Building (DDB) as a premier destination for luxury interior design.
-Oversee branding efforts, supporting nearly 100 showrooms and 3,000+ manufacturers across 18 floors in Manhattan.
Lead multi-channel marketing initiatives, including events, promotions, digital marketing, PR, and social media, to increase brand awareness and foot traffic.
-Plan and produce Spring and Fall Market trade events, securing high-profile speakers, media partnerships, and showroom participation.
-Support leasing efforts by providing sales development strategies, brand positioning, and outreach to attract new showroom tenants.
-Manage branded content creation, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels.
-Oversee public relations efforts, securing media exposure for events, showroom activity, and industry collaborations. Act as a spokesperson when needed.
-Supervise and mentor a marketing team, overseeing event planning, campaign execution, and performance analytics.
-Establish and manage partnerships with industry organizations, design publications, and trade associations to strengthen DDB’s position in the design community.
-Produce weekly reports summarizing marketing performance, showroom activity, and event attendance.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
-5+ years of experience in luxury branding, interior design marketing, or a related industry.
-Strong leadership and project management skills.
-Excellent communication, writing, and presentation abilities to engage media, showrooms, and design professionals.
-Experience managing large-scale events, PR campaigns, and digital marketing strategies.
-Ability to build relationships with media, A-list design talent, and industry leaders.
-Expertise in social media, digital trends, and alternative marketing strategies.
