We’re looking for a powerhouse Senior Interior Designer to drive high-impact projects from spark to finish. This role calls for serious design chops, sharp project management skills, and the confidence to lead with vision and clarity. If you’re a bold thinker, a doer, and a trusted partner to clients and collaborators alike, we want to hear from you.
As a Senior Interior Designer at KBD, you’ll lead the charge on projects from big-picture vision to final styling. You’ll be the creative force behind innovative concepts that not only wow our clients but reflect our studio’s high standards of excellence. You’ll juggle multiple projects with precision—balancing budgets, timelines, and resources like a pro.
You’ll own the client relationship, becoming their trusted guide from kickoff through install. Internally, you’ll mentor junior designers, fueling a collaborative culture where creativity and growth thrive. Your technical game is strong—you know your way around AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe CS, and you’re confident producing detailed drawing sets and design presentations.
You’ll source the good stuff—from tile to textiles to that perfect vintage chair—and coordinate with vendors to keep everything on track. You’re no stranger to the jobsite, and you know how to spot a problem before it becomes one.
Procurement? It’s your jam. You’ll lead the FF&E process with a sharp eye and high standards, guiding your team through the details with clarity and care. Because at KBD, the magic (or devil) is in the details.
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in interior design, with demonstrated strength in both design execution and project management.
* A compelling portfolio that highlights excellence in residential and/or commercial design.
* Proficiency in industry-standard design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
* Extreme proficiency in Studio Designer is required, with a strong understanding of procurement workflows, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design intent clearly and confidently.
* Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
* In-depth knowledge of materials, finishes, and furniture, with a strong eye for detail and curation.
* NCIDQ certification is a plus, but not required.
