Job Description

Collaborate and Create: Work closely with the Senior Designer to develop high-quality designs, drawings, and documentation throughout all phases of our projects. From the initial spark of an idea to the final touches on a finished space, you’ll be involved in every step.
Innovate and Solve: Bring your creative problem-solving skills to the table as you design and determine the feasibility of construction and custom furniture solutions for our discerning clients.
Lead and Inspire: Take ownership of Tier 1 projects, both in the studio and on-site, while mentoring junior team members and overseeing Tier 2 projects. Your leadership will help guide the team to success.
Present and Impress: Articulate design concepts through compelling presentations and detailed sketches. You’ll have the opportunity to present your work to clients, the Principal, and the broader design team.
Manage and Execute: From initial design to final construction, you’ll oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring it fits within the client’s budget, timeline, and aesthetic expectations. You’ll also be a key player in managing project timelines, quality control, and client relationships.

Job Requirements

7+ years of experience in a high-end residential interior design or architecture firm with significant construction experience.
Extensive project experience, including submission of drawing sets, specifications, technical production, and code knowledge.
Ability to originate concepts and lead design teams on multiple projects.
Knowledge of custom fabrication.
Comprehensive understanding of construction and permit set development and execution.
Extensive knowledge of design principles and standards.
Strong field observational skills.
Proficiency in conveying design options via SketchUp or other visual mediums.
Ability to manage others executing in 3D Max and Kuula.
High proficiency in Adobe Suite.
Strong proficiency with Mac; experience with G-Suites, QuickBooks, Vectorworks, and Asana is a plus.
In-depth understanding of interior/residential materials, vendors, and terminology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to tailor communication to different audiences (clients, builders, architects, vendors, design team).
Strong space planning skills and understanding of feasibility.
Detail-oriented with a big-picture mindset; both efficient and thorough.
Comfortable making decisions and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Agile and capable of switching between projects and adapting to new information.
Self-motivated to stay informed on interior design trends and products.
Access to a car with a valid driver’s license.
