A Knockout Portfolio
It comes down to great design and how well your style is represented in your application. Kips Bay’s application process is anonymous; no names are attached! Your portfolio needs to speak for itself and reflect the showhouse’s standards and quality.

Originality
Creativity—in both your work and your personality—is key. Designers should bring something different to the house: dynamic designs, fresh ideas and intrigue.

Recognition
In general, some type of recognition (whether earned via social media, consumers or the design community at large) is important. More established designers may have earned traditional attention via magazine coverage or awards, while an impressive Instagram following can pave a path for emerging designers.

Passion for philanthropy
Doing good is at the core of Kips Bay and it is important for designers to mirror those same values.
