History and modernity sit side by side at this year’s 54th Annual St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild Decorators’ Show House and Gardens. The longest-running decorator showhouse in the country is welcoming visitors from April 30 through Mother’s Day, May 10. This year’s event features two newly reimagined homes: The new house, 4038 N. Pennsylvania St., is a project of GRD Construction, while the other featured home, located next door at 4044 N. Pennsylvania St., is a 1925 Colonial Revival home.

Some of the highlighted showhouse events include “Global Design Inspirations” with Joe Ruggiero, a prior host of HGTV's "Homes Across America," who will share his inspiration for his recent collection with Sunbrella and room designs for Miles Talbott and Gat Creek, as well as his take on fashion’s impact on interior design on May 6 at 11 a.m. On May 7, browse the two featured homes and indulge in some locally brewed beers at 7:00 p.m. with "Indy on Tap," an event featuring entertainment from local singer-songwriter Brett Wiscons.

The showhouse is organized by St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild, a volunteer organization whose members include designers, landscape architects, financial supporters and volunteers. Every year, guild members donate time, funds and talents to re-envision and restore a home with event proceeds benefitting Eskenazi Health. Over the years, the guild has raised more than $10 million to fund such projects as the St. Margaret's Center for Palliative Care (an End of Life Project), the St. Margaret's Hospital Guild Mobile Mammography Van, and others, including programs for family members of those hospitalized.
