On October 8, 700 guests gathered for an invitation-only fete at the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams New York showroom to celebrate the 2015 Top 50 Designers chosen by New York Spaces magazine. Among the winners are Amanda Nisbet, Alex Papachristidis, Anthony Baratta, Damon Liss, David Kleinberg, Michael Dawkins, Miles Redd, Lee Mindel, Shawn Henderson, Paul Siskin and William McIntosh. To be considered for the honor, designers must have an established business, be based in the New York metro area, and either be part of a renowned organization or be a “new, uncovered talent.”
“With all of the real estate booming in New York, the design community is on fire,” says the magazine’s editorial director, Jason Kontos. “For the eighth year, we sorted through a plethora of the best architects and designers in the New York Metro area—great talents who bring color, form, comfort and delight to the environments we inhabit—and bestowed on the Top 50 the trade and consumer attention that accompanies being an honoree of this status."
The winners are featured in the magazine’s current issue, in e-newsletter Q&As, and in online profiles and video. New York Spaces publisher Lisa Ben-Isvy says, “We are proud to recognize the New York Spaces 2015 Top 50 Designers using all of our media platforms… The Top 50 event provides an annual opportunity to deliver for our advertisers, the strongest mix of upscale consumers and high-end interior designers in New York.”
