Custom home furnishing manufacturer Walter E. Smithe is partnering with designer Thomas O’Brien on a collection for Century Furniture. More than 120 pieces, crafted in North Carolina, will be available at select Walter E. Smithe Chicago-area showrooms. O’Brien, a New York-based interior and home furnishings designer, is founder and president of Aero Studios, and the proprietor of home boutique Aero.

Alex Shuford III, president of Century Furniture, explains, “Thomas not only brings an unimpeachable sense of design, but also a real love and knowledge of the craft and art of furniture making. He is unafraid to take a classic idea apart and put it back together in a new way that feels very current to how our customers live today.”

“Thomas O’Brien exquisitely translates modernism into a warm and livable style, and we are so pleased to present his refined vision to our clients,” said Walter E. Smithe III, president of Walter E. Smithe Furniture + Design.

“I want everything to have an essential American and modern elegance that brings these ideas forward, but I also want the design to be lasting,” shares O’Brien. “I’m deeply gratified to share this very personal collection with Walter E. Smithe clients.”
