Target's Liberty of London pop-up shop on Sixth Avenue and 42nd Street was forced to close two days early on Thursday evening due to sold-out merchandise.

Target had doubled the inventory for a typical pop-up store. According to a report in WWD, about 6,000 shoppers visited the pop-up shop on Wednesday after its 11 a.m. opening. The temporary location was scheduled to stay open through Saturday at 8 p.m.

The store’s success was attributed in part to the high-traffic location across from Bryant Park, the mild weather and the breadth of the collection.

Signs on the dismantled pop-up store doors advised shoppers that Liberty of London would be available on Sunday in Target stores.
