Sotheby’s presents midcentury modernist exhibit in Hong Kong

“Sotheby’s is pleased to bring to Hong Kong the ‘Masters of Design’ selling exhibition as part of our Contemporary Art program during this exciting spring season,” said Patti Wong, chairman of Sotheby’s Asia. “As an avid design admirer, it is also my personal honor to introduce to Asian collectors some of the finest examples of midcentury modern designs. The innovations by these iconic furniture designers continue to resonate, today more than ever, amid growing market interest in this important genre.”

“Compelling figures of 20th-century design, Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand played critical and pioneering roles in driving the modernist design movement at home and abroad,” said Jasmine Yan, Sotheby’s Hong Kong Gallery director. “Sotheby’s is thrilled to present the debut modern furniture exhibition at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Gallery, bringing Asian audiences an unprecedented opportunity to appreciate these noteworthy works in person.”
