A February 25 grand-opening party and book signing by designer Jeffrey Alan Marks signaled The Shade Store’s arrival in Santa Monica. The new store, located at 1001 Montana Avenue, hosted 75 guests who delighted in catering by Lulu Powers, along with white wine, Prosecco and kumquat-basil margaritas. “Our Santa Monica showroom has allowed us to grow The Shade Store’s presence into one of California’s most vibrant areas,” says Erin Battle, regional support for The Shade Store. “Our Montana Avenue location puts us amongst wonderful neighbors like Jeffrey Alan Marks. Hosting his book signing aligned perfectly with our grand-opening celebration.”
