PDC's Fall Market next week boasts a packed program

West Hollywood's Pacific Design Center (PDC) is hosting its annual Fall Market Thursday, September 22, with the theme Collaborative Community. The full day of events will feature new showroom openings, product introductions and evening events.

Design Inspiration from the upcoming showhouse at the Historic Greystone Estate, Maison de Luxe, will be presented by LUXE Interiors + Design Editor in Chief Pamela Jaccarino along with a panel of top interior design professionals including Barry Dixon, Philip Gorrivan, Kendall Wilkinson and Raymond Goins. Exploring everything from fall design trends to this year's Greystone Showhouse, Maison de Luxe, these designers share their fall forecast in all things design. Maison de Luxe Honorary Chairman Holly Hunt will host a reception in her showroom to continue the keynote conversation. View inspirational new product including Paul Mathieu's first collection for Holly Hunt. Light refreshments will be served.

From 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Century Furniture's Eric Graham presents a journey of outstanding techniques that can be applied to high-end wood furniture. Graham will guide participants through construction, physical and finish distressing procedures. Several unique and invaluable design embellishments will be demonstrated including gold and silver leafing, dry brush, and hand applied wax. Eric Graham is responsible for the vision and leadership of the fastest growing and most profitable segments of the Century Furniture portfolio. He is a knowledgeable and entertaining speaker, fluent in the lexicon of retailing, product development and marketing to the luxury segment and an authority on adaptation and application of new technology in furniture design.

Schumacher will host The Road to Landing a Licensed Fabric Collection with Martyn Lawrence Bullard, star of Bravo's Million Dollar Decorators, and author of Live, Love, and Decorate (Rizzoli), Susan North, Senior Vice President of Design/Creative Director for Schumacher and Andrea Stanford, contributing editor at C Magazine, for a conversation on the process of developing a designer fabric collection from concept to line launch. Following the presentation, please join Schumacher for a meet and greet with the panelists. Refreshments will be served.

From 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Creative Director David Toback will be at the new Brunschwig & Fils showroom in Lee Jofa for an insightful and informative fabric presentation. Toback and his team are currently developing new product for this storied French brand. This presentation will give designers an opportunity to preview some of Brunschwig's newest product offerings from the newly revived brand to learn how its evolving and looking to the future.

Mark Boone, noted AD 100 designer and CEO of Mimi London, Inc. will present his journey of transforming a dated, weirdly shaped structure into a stylish, personal, beach-front oasis, later featured in the pages of Architectural Digest. The presentation will touch on what inspires us as designers and how we bring those ideas into reality for our clients.

Poggenpohl will host a CEU seminar by their appliance partner, Miele. The CEU presentation explores the three standards for energy efficiency in dishwashers and washing machines and how to evaluate the determining criteria. Representatives from Miele will also answer questions and review new product introductions for 2011-12. Refreshments will be served.

12:00 to 1:00 p.m. view an exclusive textile presentation featuring Donghia, Armani/Casa Exclusive Textiles by Rubelli and Sahco.Carolyn Reed, Donghia Vice President of Residential Sales, will showcase the best of international design from Donghia, Armani/Casa Exclusive Textiles by Rubelli and Sahco. The interactive and inspiring presentation will feature the newest Fall textile designs by the renowned brands. An assortment of light refreshments will be served following the intimate presentation.

JANUS et Cie will present 'Great Design Drives Business Success and Cultural Evolution.' Join Mark Strauss, President/Publisher of Interior Design Media Group, for a look at design's newest ideas, products, creators and spaces – plus, a preview of future frontiers that will influence your design work and stimulate opportunities for your practice. Great design, in every environment, stimulates innovative designers and establishes trends that drive business success and evolve our culture. From the evolution of the office and birth of boutique hospitality to highly evolved kitchens, baths and residential spaces, professional design has emerged as a powerful player in the global marketplace.

Presented by Jackie Jordan, Sherwin-Williams Director of Color Marketing & Design, hosts a presentation on color—showing how it is always on the move, and right now, it's exploring its origins. Colormix™ 2012 surveys the landscape to find core palettes inspired by Mother Earth. A light lunch and meet & greet to follow at Robert Allen | Beacon Hill.

From 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Baker Knapp & Tubbs presents Best Seat in the House: The Story of Upholstery with furniture historian James Caughman. Caughman explores all facets of upholstered furniture to enhance the understanding of the interior design professional. His insightful talk considers the history of upholstery, including various styles as well as some confusing and esoteric terms of craft and application. He also investigates the value of framework and illustrates how true bench-made upholstery is similar in so many ways to men's bespoke suiting. This lecture will assist design professionals in selections of upholstery and justifying quality to a client.

The iconic fashion brand Lily Pulitzer, long known for wild prints and happy colors, has stepped out into home furnishings. Meet Jane Schoenborn, Fashion Director at Lilly Pulitzer, who  will share the brand's history, what Lilly Pulitzer is all about, the inspiration behind all the fabulous prints and (most importantly!) the brand's cross-over from fashion to home.

For the first time, Christian Liaigre's Executive Vice President in charge of Artistic Development, Deborah Liaigre, will visit the Pacific Design Center from her home base of Paris, France, to personally greet Liaigre clients and talk about new product developments. Deborah Liagre, who has a degree in interior design, has created luxurious interiors for the Liaigre firm since 1999, working internationally in locales from New York, London and Lisbon to Australia and Greece. Joining her presentation about the European luxury lifestyle that Liaigre represents is Liaigre President Christophe Caillaud who used to head Jean-Paul Gaultier, and two interior designers who have been longtime Liaigre customers in the U.S., one American and one French. Patterson, Flynn & Martin, Rosecore presents Traditional Now: Evolving Definitions of Traditional Design with acclaimed Interior Designer and author of Traditional Now (Monacelli Press 2011) David Kleinberg and Los Angeles Times Magazine critic Mayer Rus for a conversation on the evolving definition of traditional design as seen in interiors from Park Avenue and The Hamptons, to Palm Beach and Los Angeles. Kleinberg, a 30 year design veteran with over 15 years of experience at the venerable Parish-Hadley, and Rus, style devotee, will discuss how this changing landscape inspires design today including the development of Kleinberg's newest collection of traditional yet transitional rugs for Patterson, Flynn & Martin. A book signing, line showing and luncheon will follow.

In the evening, Moura Starr will host Million Dollar Decorator star Mary McDonald who will unveil a makeover of the showroom's front window display and reveal what's new in her world of design in an illustrated presentation followed by questions from the audience.
