NYSID student thesis exhibit starts next week

Next week, 13 graduating BFA students will premiere their thesis projects at the New York School of Interior Design. Work by Rakel M. Abehsera, Rose Darline Darbouze, Deanna D’Elia, Gabriela Garcia, Ariel Lyn Hardenburgh, Xiao Liu, Hui Qu, Brianna Christine Scheid, Jamina Ericka Silen-Rauchman, Leighanna Ternosky, Sharon Wong, Zi Ye, and Enes Yilmaz, who completed their coursework last month, will be on display in the school’s gallery starting January 22. Student work from the Holiday House 2015 competition will be on display in the lobby.

The students’ final thesis projects are hypothetical designs based on the adaptive reuse of existing buildings. The work will be officially unveiled at a January 21 reception, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at NYSID, 161 East 69th Street (RSVP via email). The designs will be on view until February 19, Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
