The shelter magazine shake-ups continue as Jennifer Levene-Bruno, formerly Associate Publisher at House Beautiful, has been named Publisher of Veranda magazine, replacing the magazine's founding Publisher Sims Bray, Jr.

Bruno's new role will take effect in September. Bray will remain a consultant at the company until the end of the year.

During her four years at House Beautiful, Bruno was instrumental in the advertising and revenue growth. The magazine was named to Advertising Age’s “Magazine A-List” in 2008; ad pages are currently up eight percent year-to-date through September.

“Jennifer is a natural leader and her experience in this business is unparalleled,” said Michael A. Clinton, president, marketing and publishing director of Hearst Magazines. “Her energy and determination combined with Editor in Chief Dara Caponigro’s impeccable eye for design and sense of style will continue to elevate the brand within the category.”

Bruno has held positions as Advertising Director at Glamour, Associate Publisher at Rodale and Eastern Ad Director at This Old House. Previously, she was corporate regional sales director at Hachette Filipacchi Media, where she created customized integrated marketing programs for more than 21 magazines, including Elle Décor, and the now defunct Home and Metropolitan Home. Bruno began her publishing sales career at Woman's Day and its Special Interest Publications.
