The Winter Antiques Show announced its 2016 Honorary Design Chairs: Nate Berkus, Ellie Cullman, Alexa Hampton and Markham Roberts. The show is scheduled for January 22 to 31, 2016, at the Park Avenue Armory, with an opening night party on January 21.
"We challenge ourselves every single year to try and make the Winter Antiques Show more impressive than the year before, to take it from strength to strength. If we had a motto, it would be 'Let us surprise and inspire you,'” Arie Kopelman, Winter Antiques Show co-chair, says. “In 2016, the Winter Antiques Show is starting a new tradition: We will have an A-list group of Honorary Design Chairs. This year Nate Berkus, Ellie Cullman, Alexa Hampton, and Markham Roberts have been chosen, and they are already lending their enthusiastic support. We are thrilled to be working with these four design stars."
The design chairs were selected based on their influence and achievement in the design industry and expertise in antique decor.
Berkus says, “The Winter Antiques Show in New York is a not-to-be-missed event.… Year after year it assembles the best of the best; from the dealers, to the one-of-a-kind antiques on display. As a designer, I love to shop the show, for inspiration and for my clients. The best interiors are ones that are assembled over time, that have character and patina. Layering in antiques and vintage finds is what adds that. I’m so thrilled to be an Honorary Design Chair this year, and to see what the 2016 show has in store for us.”
The annual 1stdibs Designers Brunch, set for opening day, gives designers and clients an early viewing of the show. Proceeds benefit the East Side House Settlement, as it celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2016.
