Design on a Dime NYC kicked off on April 25 with an opening night party that Michael Boodro, Elle Decor editor in chief, described as “one of the design world’s most fun evenings.” He added, “This year is the biggest edition ever.” Around 1,300 attendees—among them, the event’s founding chair, James Huniford; co-chairs Boodro, Alessandra Branca, Nicole Gibbons, George Oliphant and Marisa Tomei; social chair Douglas Friedman; and a collection of top designers who created vignettes—enjoyed the opening night event and in the process raised $1.2 million to support Housing Works.
