Top products at NY NOW were awarded earlier this week at the winter 2016 edition of the lifestyle and gift market. Also given out were the first-ever Best Exclusive Launch Award, honoring an exceptional product premiered at this season’s market, and the Eco Choice Awards for the top sustainability products.

“The winners of the Best New Product Awards represent the best of what NY NOW has to offer,” said Scott Kramer, co-director and vice president of NY NOW. “NY NOW is the source for design-driven and fashion-forward trends, and these awards recognize exceptional products in an intensely competitive industry.”

This market’s Best New Product winners include:

The winner of Best Exclusive Launch was Love Mae’s Woodland Feast, a four-piece bamboo dinner set. “The ability to see exclusive products is one of the things that sets NY NOW apart from any other market event, and this year, the number of products that debuted at NY NOW was positively overwhelming,” said Randi Mohr, NY NOW co-director and vice president. “We’re pleased to award Love Mae with this honor and look forward to seeing the product’s success in the market!”

The judges for the winter 2016 Best New Product Awards and Best Exclusive Launch included Tina Benitez-Eves of Gifts and Decorative Accessories; Patti Biro of Day Spa Association; Sharon Franke of Good Housekeeping; Elina Furman of A-List Mom; David Gill of HFN; Jenny Heinzen York of Home Accents Today; Stephanie Hintz of Handmade Business; Claire Johnson of Giftware News; Nancy Jeffries of Happi; Jennifer Marks of Home & Textiles Today; Donna Milstein of CRAFT; Keith Recker of Hand/Eye; and Raina Seitel of NBC New York Live.

As for the Eco Choice Awards, this year, all products in the Home, Lifestyle and Handmade categories within the SustainAbility: Design for a Better World section of the show were eligible to be included in the Eco Choice program. (The program’s standards were revised last year and now include qualifying only those products that are manufactured or constructed with recycled, recyclable and/or sustainable materials and which are manufactured with an emphasis on socially responsible and fair trade business practices.)

Eco Choice Awards judges included Danny Seo of Naturally magazine, Sarah Schwartz of Stationery Trends magazine, and Amy Beierholm of ABC Carpet & Home. “Now more than ever, consumers are actively seeking out products that are eco-friendly and socially responsible. NY NOW’s Eco Choice Award winners, which represent offerings from across the market’s three collections, showcase the continued demand for products that positively impact not only our communities, but also society as a whole,” said Kramer. “NY NOW is proud to recognize the industry’s commitment to green products and business practices through these awards.”
