Cullman & Kravis has named four senior designers to the roles of senior design partners: Lee Cavanaugh, Sarah DePalo, Claire Ratliff, and Alyssa Urban

D.C.-based firm //3877 has hired Project Manager Samantha Bennett, who brings prior experience from Juli Russell Interior Design Group and Cooper Carry in restaurant, hotel and high-end residential architecture and design; as well as interior designer Jessica Matthews, who graduated in May from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in interior design and experience interning at KSA Interiors.

Michael Graves Architecture & Design has named Alan Feltoon senior director of business development. Feltoon has served as an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute and managing principal of a Washington, D.C.–area firm, as well founding his own firm.

Pratt Institute has named two new hires: David Erdman, who joins as chair of Graduate Architecture and Urban Design (GAUD); and Eva Baron, who has been named chair of the Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment (GCPE) at the School of Architecture. Baron arrives with experience across higher education, advocacy and government, while Erdman is a co-founding director of the design firm davidclovers, which has been listed on Architectural Digest’s AD100 list of top firms in Asia.

Foley & Cox has promoted Zuni Madera to design director, following nearly a decade of experience at the company. In her new role, Madera will interact with clients and staff and manage design projects.  

The Museum of Arts and Design has named Jorge Daniel Veneciano as its next Nanette L. Laitman Director. Veneciano arrives with experience earned as the director of the Sheldon Museum of Art, in Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as time at the Studio Museum in Harlem and the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

Dallas firm Studio 11 Design has hired Omar Garcia as senior architectural project designer, following his experience at Wilson Associates, where he spent 10 years in charge of luxury projects worldwide.


Sweeten, a tech company that connects home renovation projects to general contractors, has announced two senior hires: Randi MacColl was named chief marketing officer, bringing with her two decades of experience in brand strategy, content and revenue-driven partnerships, including at 1stdibs and Architectural Digest; and Patrick Flanagan, SVP of accounts, who arrives with extensive startup experience, having grown a business from the ground up to 450 employees across five countries, with yearly revenues in excess of $80 million.

Laura Steele has been named associate publisher, marketing at Interior Design magazine. She was formerly the marketing director for Donghia.

Barbara Friedmann, former publisher of Elle Decor, has joined the Viyet executive team as a strategic advisor, in a special projects role that will focus on developing relationships with designers. She had joined Elle Decor in 2009, overseeing its sales and marketing for seven years, during which time the magazine’s ad revenue grew by nearly 19 percent.

Eddie Ross has been named the contributing style editor for ATGStores, where the New York–based designer, editor and Modern Mix author will focus on developing new content and design ideas. Ross previously served as producing editor for Better Homes & Gardens, with past experience at House Beautiful and Martha Stewart.

Erin Kaplan has been named Architectural Digest’s new PR director, replacing Dylan Edwards, who has moved on to work with Vogue and Teen Vogue digital. Jane Keltner de Valle, former Glamour fashion news editor, has also signed on to the publication as style director. Keltner de Valle worked at Teen Vogue, Elle and W previously.


Kim Coughlin has left her marketing role at the D&D Building for a new position at Schumacher, where she is serving as PR manager. 

Michelle Cacciatore has joined Stacy McLaughlin Communications, bringing prior experience from her time at Roz Joseph Group.

Alexandra DeAngelo will be the new director of PR for One Kings Lane. She was previously an account supervisor for Home Furnishings & Luxury Lifestyle at Susan Magrino Agency

Rugs America has promoted its marketing director, Jessica Bartels, to vice president of marketing and sales. Her new responsibilities will include responding to sales and marketing inquiries, developing promotions and product presentations, and leading sales and marketing initiatives. 

Katharina Weisflog has left her marketing and PR role after eight years at Vitra to join a New York–based design and architecture PR agency Novità Communications.

Dallas Market Center has named Allen Davis as executive vice president, marketing. He will lead the development and execution of marketing programs across all sales channels and communications platforms for the center. Davis brings prior experience as director of account services with Banowetz + Co., a Dallas-based, full-service branding and advertising agency. The center has also named Greg Joselove as vice president, publishing, and he will lead efforts across apps, social media, web advertising, digital signage and video.

The National Kitchen & Bath Association has appointed Suzie Williford vice president, industry relations. In her new role, Williford will manage NKBA Marketplace activities, the KBIS trade show, and association sponsorships, chapters and governance.

Mia Mendez has left her position as senior account manager at HL Group after three years to accept an in-house PR position at Demand Media.

UpSpring PR has named Matthew Marin as account executive, following experience as an associate editor for Hotel Business and contributing editor for Hotel Business Design. In his new role, Marin will work with senior management to oversee client accounts.


Caracole has named Tim O’Hare to the new position of senior vice president of creative merchandising. He will lead the creative vision and overall product design for case goods and upholstery, as well as merchandising for all of Caracole’s brands—Classic, Modern, Compositions and Signature. He brings experience from his role at H. Thomas Keller and Associates, where he served as a designer as well as a senior partner and lead creative.

Ann Feierabend has joined New York­­–based tile and stone distributor Nemo Tile as its first national account manager. She will expand the brand’s reach beyond the Northeast and focus on sales in the Midwest and West. She arrives with prior experience earned at Barrier One, Telling Architectural Systems and GranitiFiandre.
