The 2017 Coastal Living Idea House will launch in July, celebrating the magazine’s 20th anniversary with design innovations and trends from the last two decades. It’s the 34th Idea House of its kind and the first one to be built in Newport, Rhode Island. The magazine is teaming up with interior designer Mark D. Sikes, A. Tesa Architecture and Horan Building Company to bring the project to life.
“An adored experience for consumers and advertisers alike, the Coastal Living Idea House allows us to showcase new trends, ideas and products in coastal home decor and design that speak to what our brand is all about,” shares Ann Gobel, VP of Lifestyle Brand Sales at Time Inc. “We’re excited to bring our clients the access and influence of the award-winning idea house program to a place that embodies elegance, romance and adventure.”
The home spans 5,100 square feet, with five bedrooms, a pool, a game room and media room, and bay views. Current sponsors include AZEK Building Products, Belgard, Carolina Lanterns & Lighting, Circa Lighting, Delta Faucet, Blue Buffalo Company, Lee Industries, Lloyd Flanders, Marvin Windows and Doors, Sunbrella and VELUX Skylights.
“In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Coastal Living brand, this year’s Idea House will be packed with reimagined trends from the past two decades as well as the classic decor ideas for which we are best known,” says Steele Marcoux, editor in chief. “With spectacular water views and an unbeatable location, the Newport Idea House is the perfect representation of the rich history of the Coastal Living brand and the lifestyle it embodies.”
The house will be available for sale. It is open to the public from July 1 through Labor Day weekend.
