This weekend marked the grand opening of Bloomingdale's first international store. The Dubai location includes a three-level department store, as well as a 54,000-square-foot home store, featuring a fully-staffed Interior Design Studio. Home store offers furnishings for every room of the home from furniture, bedding, cookware, kitchen accessories, fine china, crystal, textiles to custom furnishings and decorative accessories.

“This is a momentous occasion for us to be opening the first international Bloomingdale’s stores in the Middle East and in the world’s largest shopping mall,” said Michael Gould, Bloomingdale’s U.S. chairman and chief executive officer, who was in Dubai for the launch. “We recognize Dubai as a location that offers a dynamic and innovative retail environment and we look forward to adding to the success of our iconic stores in the U.S.A."

The store is a joint venture between Macy's and Dubai retailer al-Tayer Insignia.
