The ASID New York Metro chapter announced the winners of its “Best Of” awards for the Architectural Digest Design Show earlier this month. ASID NY Metro president-elect Bjorn Bjornsson, past president Robin Baron and designers Asler Valero, Bonnie J. Steves, Kim Radovich and Arlene Angard served as judges and the criteria were “creativity, innovation and sustainability from both an installation and products perspective.”

Winners include:
BEST OF SHOW: Benjamin Moore, exhibit designed by Darrin Varden
BEST OF MADE: Borealis Studios
BEST INNOVATION DESIGN: Zavar Design
BEST IN SUSTAINABILITY: JM Lifestyles
Of the Benjamin Moore booth, the jury panel said, “This was a hard decision, because there were many outstanding booths to choose from. Benjamin Moore stood out for its exceptional design concept, consumer-friendly appeal and overall memorable installation.”
On Zavar Design, winner of the Best Innovation Design Award, ASID said, “The installation illustrated the brand’s core mission, displaying materials in a very interesting way to showcase functional products that combine design and technology.” Sustainability winner JM Lifestyles, noted for its WoodForm Central Park table with mini-ecosystem on top, “succeeded in bringing the look, feel and warmth of nature into a healthy environment for consumer use.”
