A partnership between renowned carpet maker Edward Fields and nonprofit The Alpha Workshops is yielding 13 hand-tufted rugs, as part of a shared celebration: Alpha Workshops' 20th anniversary, and Edward Fields' 80th anniversary.

The new designs, inspired by handmade wallpaper and verre églomisé from Alpha Workshops founder and executive director Kenneth Wampler, are a follow-up on the two partners’ original collaboration in 2011. Under the direction of global design director Yasmina Benazzou, the new collection, named Alpha Workshop II Edition, is composed of wool, silk and lurex materials. Three of the designs blend the signature geometry of archival Edward Fields' designs with newly created work from Alpha Workshops. "The Alpha Workshops is a stimulating place full of inspiration, where design and passion come together,” says Benazzou. “I'm glad that Edward Fields is once more writing a chapter with The Alpha Workshops to enrich their respective design archives."

All royalties earned on the sales of the rugs are donated to Alpha Workshops.

“We are thrilled to be launching a second collection of rugs with Edward Fields,” adds Wampler. “This collection once again demonstrates the diversity of design found among our artisans. When we do good through design, everyone wins.”
