Collective Design's annual design fair shines a spotlight on a compelling group of expert-curated design concepts, with festivities unfolding across 60,000 square feet at Skylight Clarkson Square starting May 12 with a cocktail reception, and continuing with a public opening from May 13 to May 17, as part of NYCxDesign.

Of special note are: contemporary furniture selected by Sight Unseen magazine editors Monica Khemsurov and Jill Singer; imported European influence from Milan's Memphis-Post Design Gallery and the Parisian Galerie Negropontes, and local favorites such as Ornamentum Gallery, Maison Gerard, and Nicholas Kilner. Collective Design is also partnering with Children's Museum of the Arts, the Museum of Arts and Design, the New Museum and the Cooper Hewitt, which will all contribute programming, such as special tours and lectures to the fair.

Some of the many must-hear discussions include "The Italian Design Legacy," a conversation with Annabelle Selldorf and Stefano Tonchi on May 14 at 3:30 p.m.; "The New Handmade" on May 16 at 4 p.m. on the intersections between digital design and craft, and "Living with Collectible Design," featuring buyers, gallerists and interior designers on building a collection, which will take place on May 17 at 2:30 p.m. Notable tours include those led by architect and interior designer Robert Couturier, Glenn Adamson of the Museum of Arts and Design, Brooke Hodge of Cooper Hewitt, and a variety of others.

Calvin Klein Home’s trademark understated elegance awaits visitors to the fair’s VIP Lounge, with seating areas fitted with furniture from the Calvin Klein Curator Collection plus artwork from New York-based artist Miya Ando and ceramic vessels designed exclusively for Calvin Klein Home by Alexander Matisse, great-grandchild of the renowned French artist, adorning the area.
