With its largest list of international exhibitors, the LA Art Show will host 90 galleries from over 18 countries, including China, The Czech Republic, France, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom, when it returns January 11 through 15, 2017. Among the special programs for this year’s fair are a unique focus on Latin American and Latino art, designed to dovetail with The Getty’s “Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA” exhibit.
“When I started the fair 22 years ago, my original intention was to bring the international art world to Los Angeles,” says Kim Martindale, LA Art Show producer. “In the last few years, however, with all the institutional heft emanating from Los Angeles, I now hope to showcase the city and its art community to the world.”
The fair will partner with local art institutions as well as international galleries. Among the features are contemporary ink art, conversations on democracy and freedom, a floating installation by the Museum of Latin American Art, a staged performance, and other exhibits and expressions.
