Many designers approach marketing as a collection of tactics: post more on Instagram, hire someone for SEO, update the website, start a newsletter. But million-dollar design businesses aren’t built on scattered acts—they’re built on strategy.

In this interactive workshop, brand strategist Ericka Saurit and business coach Katie Decker-Erickson guide you through the foundational decisions that shape sustainable growth, including determining the type of business you want to build, the clients you want to serve, and the operational structure required to support it. Marketing only delivers meaningful results when it aligns with these deeper business realities.

Rather than offering another checklist of tasks, this workshop reframes marketing as a strategic system—one that connects positioning, pricing, financial clarity and brand storytelling. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how successful firms move beyond visibility to build true brand authority, attract the right clients, and create profitable, resilient design practices.

In this class, attendees will learn:
- Why marketing strategy must start with business strategy, and how defining the life and business you want to build shapes your ideal clients, project types, pricing and marketing decisions
- The difference between visibility and real brand authority
- Why DIY marketing eventually hits a ceiling
- How successful design firms shift from business owner to CEO thinking
- The mindset and operational shifts required to move from small projects and reactive marketing to intentional growth

After this class, attendees will have:
- Clarity on the type of design business you actually want to build
- A strategic lens for evaluating your current marketing efforts
- A clearer understanding of the relationship between brand, business operations and profitability
- A framework for thinking about marketing as a long-term growth system (and not just a series of tactics)

Additional Information:
This workshop is conducted through Zoom webinar. All you need to join is reliable internet access and computer speakers with good volume.
