For many designers, growing a business means taking on more roles, more responsibilities and more work themselves. Designer, project manager, bookkeeper, client care provider, purchasing agent and installation crew can quickly become a single-person operation—with little time left to lead the business or do the work only you can do. But building a profitable design firm doesn’t necessarily require a big team. It requires the right people in the right roles, with a thoughtful integration of local talent, digital support and AI in the mix.

In this Launch class, design business strategist and coach Melissa Galt will share how to build a lean, capable team that supports your firm’s growth without adding unnecessary complexity. She’ll explore how to identify the roles your business needs, determine when to hire, and avoid the costly mistakes that come from hiring reactively. Attendees will also learn how to strategically divide responsibilities across employees, contractors and technology while maintaining quality, protecting their time and creating more capacity for growth. The goal is to build a team that allows designers to step out of the day-to-day and into the leadership role their business requires.

In this class, attendees will learn:
- The first three roles every design firm should fill to reclaim time and regain control
- How to delegate effectively so responsibilities stay off their plate
- Which roles can be outsourced to keep your firm nimble and flexible
- How to use AI to streamline the hiring and onboarding process
- How to step into the role of CEO, leader and visionary instead of becoming the bottleneck

After this class, attendees will have:
- A framework for determining which roles to fill first based on your firm’s current needs and growth goals
- A five-day process for creating clear, effective job descriptions designed to attract the right talent
- An AI-powered approach to streamlining hiring, supporting better decisions and creating a stronger foundation for team success
- A new perspective on delegation as an investment in your business, rather than simply an expense
- Five organizational models for seven-figure firms, offering a road map for future growth or a framework for restructuring an existing team

This workshop is conducted through Zoom webinar. All you need to join is reliable internet access and computer speakers with good volume.
