Business of Home celebrated the grand opening of Design Within Reach’s Upper West Side studio with a live podcast event. Columnist and host Dennis Scully interviewed New York magazine’s venerable design editor, Wendy Goodman, in a conversation that walked through her childhood home, her storied career, and the philosophies that have guided her work.
Design Within Reach CEO John Edelman welcomed 50 guests to the new studio, including former New York Times photo stylist Julie Britt, domino’s Beth Brenner, and veteran photo editor Karen Mullarkey. Designers Joel Caturla and Susan Petrie also attended the event.
“I loved the event and enjoyed hearing Wendy’s personal story in relation to design through fashion, home and other avenues of her life,” said Clara Matignon, showroom manager at Castel Maison. “I look forward to future events that Design Within Reach will be hosting.”
