Rinfret, Ltd. is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Designer to join our team in Greenwich, Connecticut. This is a full-time, in-office position working closely with the principals and design team across multiple high-end residential projects.
The Senior Designer will play an integral role in developing and executing design concepts from initial design development through installation. This position requires a strong design sensibility, excellent technical and organizational skills, and the ability to take ownership of key aspects of a project while collaborating closely with the principals on overall creative direction.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing client presentations, sourcing furniture, fabrics, materials, and finishes, space planning, and producing and reviewing detailed drawings and project documentation. The Senior Designer will coordinate directly with architects, contractors, fabricators, tradespeople, and vendors to ensure design intent is accurately executed throughout construction, fabrication, and installation.
Additional responsibilities include managing project details and timelines, reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs, preparing budgets and proposals, reviewing vendor quotes and specifications, maintaining project organization and internal tracking, and participating in client meetings, presentations, and design reviews.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and confident managing multiple projects and deadlines. They should be comfortable taking initiative and ownership of their work while thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced design environment
• 5+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably within a high-end residential design firm.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage significant portions of a project from design development through installation while collaborating closely with principals on creative direction.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation programs, including Studio Designer, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe InDesign.
• Strong technical skills with the ability to develop and review furniture plans, elevations, custom furniture drawings, millwork drawings, shop drawings, and other project documentation.
• Experience coordinating directly with architects, general contractors, subcontractors, fabricators, tradespeople, and vendors, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs.
• Strong visual and creative communication skills, with the ability to develop polished client presentations, material and finish schemes, and cohesive design concepts.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, anticipate next steps, and meet deadlines with limited oversight.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a consistently high standard of accuracy across drawings, specifications, budgets, proposals, presentations, and project documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and for sourcing, client meetings, and installations as needed.
