Marc Phillips Decorative Rugs is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sample Librarian to manage the storage, organization, and distribution of our sales and marketing resources. This role is essential in ensuring that samples are properly stored, consigned, transferred, and returned while maintaining accurate inventory levels. The Sample Librarian will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to facilitate sample sourcing and collection distribution, contributing to a seamless client experience.
Responsibilities
• Maintain and organize the company’s sample library and resource storage
• Pull and distribute samples to showrooms, sales representatives, and clients as needed
• Assist the sales and marketing teams with sample sourcing for client outreach
• Stay informed on interior design trends and materials to suggest appropriate samples for projects
• Process consignments, returns, and transfers to keep inventory records accurate
• Generate shipping labels and coordinate domestic and international shipments
• Schedule and oversee daily sample pickups and deliveries, including coordination with our New York showroom
• Conduct regular inventory checks and advise on reordering to maintain stock of in-demand samples
• Support sales and marketing initiatives, including the logistics of collection launches
Qualifications & Skills
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Experience with inventory management and tracking systems
• Salesforce experience strongly preferred
• Shipping experience of generating domestic and international shipping labels
• Strong communication and coordination skills to collaborate across teams
• Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented with the ability to work independently
• Comfortable working in a storage environment with varying conditions
• Ability to lift and move a minimum of 40 lb. and organize physical inventory in a warehouse setting
• Familiarity with showroom operations, warehouse management, or supply chain logistics
• Problem-solving skills, particularly in resolving inventory discrepancies or shipping issues
• Passion for interior design with an eye for color, texture, and fiber content
• Team player who contributes to a positive and collaborative work environment
