Position Overview:
Jessica Schuster Design is seeking an experienced Design Intern to join our team from early March through June, with the potential to extend the internship for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with the organization and maintenance of an extensive materials library, including processing and filing new samples, returning samples to vendors, and labeling, categorizing, and distributing project materials.
Communicating with vendors to request pricing, lead times, finishes, dimensions, color options, and custom capabilities.
Coordinating and executing pickups and deliveries of materials, drawings, samples, and installation items to vendors, job sites, and other locations as needed.
Supporting the preparation of client presentations, budgets, and schedules, including the creation of design boards and InDesign presentations.
Assisting with office operations such as a new office move, project installations, and general errands as needed.
Coordinating shipping and delivery of packages.
Assisting with CAD drawings, including furniture and art elevations, floor plans, and other design documentation as needed.
Providing personal assistance to the principal and supporting general office management tasks as required.
Job Requirements:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, with demonstrated experience required (portfolio and/or work samples must be provided).
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop, with demonstrated experience required (portfolio and/or work samples must be provided).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as Google Workspace.
Availability to work at least three full days per week, in person, at our SoHo, NY office.
Must be currently based in New York City.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage systems and workflows efficiently.
Ability to follow directions precisely and consistently.
Openness to feedback and a willingness to learn.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder).
