Job Description

JSD is seeking a skilled Junior/Intermediate Interior Designer with a passion for interior design and a minimum 3 years of professional experience to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate will work with the Principal and Senior Designers to assist in the delivery of all phases of our projects from conceptual ideas through to installation. The chosen candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, a great communicator, extremely organized and systematic, and have a desire to grow with the company as a key member of our team. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong balance between design sensitivity and technical knowledge, together with the project organization skills that are necessary to operate in a fast-paced environment, as well as high end residential experience.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Formulate design presentations, preliminary space plans and 2D, 3D design concept studies and sketches
- Create floorplans, elevations, details, reflected ceiling plans, furniture plans, shop drawings, materials, and finish schedules.
Ability to field measure and document existing building conditions.
- Prepare specifications and schedules with accurate product information for furniture, plumbing, appliances, lighting, and finishes.
- Procure orders seamlessly and manage all project aspects from start to finish by working alongside contractors, vendors, property managers etc. to ensure a seamless result
- Close collaboration and open communication with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors
- Work on several projects simultaneously and be able to provide continuous updates for the principal and senior designer whom you will support

Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Must be very comfortable with all aspects of project management
- At least three years of interior design experience at a high-end interior design.
- Ability to create set of construction drawings, specifications, and schedule
- Proficiency in Adobe CS
- Must be able to demonstrate strong detailing skills and understanding of interior design
- Strong presentation skills using rendering software, Sketch Up, Adobe Suite and hand sketches a plus
- Must be organized in all facets of the job to ensure smooth and timely delivery of projects
-Installation experience, especially in complex high-end jobs
- Experience in FF&E procurement & software (Studio Designer)
- Construction management skills
- Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Exceptionally customer focused and managing vendor relationships
