Job Description

McBride & Yee Interior Design is seeking a talented and highly organized Interior Designer with 1- 2 years of professional experience to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Boston, reporting directly to the firm’s principals.

In your role, you will work closely with both principals on the design, documentation, procurement, and implementation of high-end residential interiors. This is a collaborative, hands-on role requiring a strong design sensibility, exceptional organizational skills, and careful attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with all phases of the design process, from initial concept development through installation
- Source furniture, lighting, textiles, wallcoverings, finishes, artwork, and accessories
- Prepare and maintain client presentations, material boards, specifications, and project documentation
- Produce and revise floor plans, furniture plans, elevations, and other technical drawings
- Request and organize vendor quotes, pricing, samples, and product information
- Assist with procurement, order tracking, and coordination with vendors, workrooms, contractors, and installers
- Maintain accurate project schedules, budgets, specifications, and product records
- Attend client meetings, site visits, construction meetings, showroom appointments, and installations
- Assist with field measurements and the documentation of existing conditions
- Help prepare for and participate in project installations and styling
- Communicate professionally and promptly with clients, vendors, tradespeople, and project partners
- Provide general studio and project support as needed

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field preferred
- 1 - 2 years of professional experience in residential interior design
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
- Knowledge of SketchUp or any 3D rendering program is a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experience with Studio Designer or similar project-management and procurement software is a plus
- Strong understanding of space planning, scale, materials, furnishings, and construction documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Ability to receive direction and feedback while also working independently
- Professional demeanor and discretion when working with clients and in private residences
- Willingness to assist with the physical and logistical aspects of installations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for project-related travel preferred
