We are seeking a self-sufficient and highly organized Showroom Concierge to be the face of our showroom at the New York Design Center. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently throughout the day, as foot traffic may be minimal at times. While there will be interaction with clients during scheduled visits and showroom events, this is not a highly social or fast-paced role and would best suit someone who enjoys a structured, quiet work environment.
The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining an elegant and welcoming space, ensuring that every detail of the showroom reflects Sossego’s high standards. They will support the Business Development Manager by keeping the showroom pristine, well-organized, and ready for client visits, meetings, and industry events. Additionally, they will assist with hospitality duties, including preparing for lunches, happy hours, and gatherings. Occasionally, staying past 5:00 PM for events may be required.
CLIENT EXPERIENCE & FRONT DESK DUTIES: Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring a warm and professional welcome. Guide them through the showroom, provide product information, and connect them with the Business Development Manager when needed. Maintain a visitor log and track showroom activity. Keep showroom brochures, price lists, and materials stocked and up to date.
SHOWROOM ORGANIZATION & PRESENTATION: Ensure the showroom maintains a high standard of cleanliness, order, and aesthetic appeal. Refresh furniture displays, samples, and materials as needed. Perform light cleaning tasks and coordinate with external cleaning services when necessary.
MEETINGS & HOSPITALITY SUPPORT: Set up and break down meeting spaces for presentations and private lunches. Arrange and serve catering, beverages, and refreshments. Keep meeting areas tidy and properly staged.
EVENT COORDINATION & SUPPORT: Assist in planning and executing showroom events, happy hours, and industry gatherings. Manage guest check-ins and provide hospitality support. Coordinate with caterers, vendors, and marketing teams for seamless execution.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE: Provide light administrative support, including calendar coordination, appointment scheduling, and follow-ups. Maintain and organize sample inventory, ensuring designers and clients have access to key materials. Track showroom activity and interactions to support sales and business development efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
2+ years of experience in a showroom, hospitality, luxury retail, or front-desk role preferred. Comfortable working independently for long periods, as showroom traffic may fluctuate. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of showroom presentation. Self-motivated and able to take initiative without direct supervision. Friendly and professional, but not overly extroverted. Proficiency in basic administrative tasks.
