Job Description

Marea Clark Interiors is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and design-driven team member to support or lead high-end residential interior design projects from initial concept development through design documentation, procurement, installation, styling, and project handoff.

This position may be shaped as a Design Assistant, Designer, or Senior Designer role depending on the candidate’s experience level. We are open to candidates ranging from early-career designers with strong potential to experienced senior designers who can lead projects, manage client communication, oversee budgets and schedules, and mentor junior team members.

Our studio is collaborative, fast-paced, and deeply focused on creating thoughtful, layered, and personalized interiors that reflect each client’s lifestyle, needs, and vision. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in high-end residential design, excellent organizational skills, polished communication, and a commitment to producing accurate, beautiful, and well-executed work.

Key responsibilities may include sourcing furniture, fabrics, fixtures, finishes, lighting, accessories, art, antiques, and custom pieces; assisting with or leading design presentations, mood boards, material palettes, furniture plans, elevations, and client-facing materials; maintaining FF&E schedules, specifications, budgets, proposals, purchase orders, and procurement tracking; coordinating with vendors, showrooms, workrooms, fabricators, receivers, contractors, architects, consultants, and other project partners; and participating in installations and styling days.

More experienced candidates will be expected to help define project goals, develop and present design concepts, lead project communication, manage schedules and budgets, review construction drawings and technical details, oversee project documentation, delegate to junior staff, and ensure the final result aligns with the approved design direction and MCI’s standards for quality, organiz

Job Requirements

Candidates should have experience in interior design, architecture, or a related field, with responsibilities and title determined by experience level. We are open to candidates with approximately 0–2 years of experience for a Design Assistant role, 4–7 years for a Designer role, and 7+ years for a Senior Designer role.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, dependable, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced studio environment. Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on open items, and take pride in producing polished and accurate work.

Candidates should have a strong interest in high-end residential interiors and be comfortable supporting or managing the design process across concept development, design documentation, procurement, installation, and styling. Experience sourcing furniture, fabrics, lighting, materials, finishes, accessories, antiques, art, and custom pieces is preferred.

For Designer and Senior Designer candidates, strong project management skills are important, including task tracking, delegation, budget awareness, timeline management, client communication, and coordination with vendors, contractors, architects, consultants, and internal team members. Senior-level candidates should also be able to lead project delivery, review construction drawings and architectural details, translate design objectives into specifications and documentation, and mentor junior staff.

Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office is expected. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required for Designer and Senior Designer candidates, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Studio Designer, Asana, or similar design and project management software is a plus.
