Ashe Leandro is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our New York studio. Working closely with the Interior Design Director and senior leadership, this role contributes to the creative and technical development of projects from concept through installation.
The ideal candidate combines a strong design sensibility with excellent organizational and communication skills and is comfortable taking ownership of portions of a project while collaborating with senior and junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and document interior design concepts under the guidance of senior leadership.
• Lead portions of projects, coordinating schedules, deliverables, and client communications.
• Prepare drawings, material selections, presentations, specifications, budgets, and client approval documentation.
• Source furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes, fixtures, and materials.
• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, contractors, and fabricators throughout design and procurement.
• Maintain accurate project and financial information in coordination with the bookkeeping team.
• Participate in design reviews, client meetings, site visits, sourcing, and installations.
• Support and mentor junior team members while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Min 5 years of professional interior design experience, preferably within a high-end residential or design-focused studio.
• Strong design sensibility and understanding of furniture, color, materials, finishes, and proportion.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Studio Designer.
• Experience with design documentation, sourcing, procurement, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
• Experience managing portions of small to mid-scale projects independently.
• Familiarity with architectural and construction coordination.
• Excellent written, verbal, visual, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment.
• Professional and confident when communicating with clients, vendors, consultants, and contractors.
• Strong problem-solving skills, accountability, discretion, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to participate in occasional site visits, sourcing trips, travel, and project installations.
• NCIDQ or similar professional certification is a plus.
