Job Description

The Design Team Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, responsible for leading and coordinating a team of Interior Designers and related design staff. This role oversees the end-to-end design process, ensuring projects move efficiently from concept development through construction documentation and installation. Daily responsibilities include managing workloads, setting design standards, reviewing plans and drawings, and providing coaching and feedback to team members. The Design Team Manager collaborates closely with CAD and Construction Departments, Purchasing, and leadership to maintain quality, consistency, and adherence to project timelines and budgets. This position also supports client presentations, helps resolve design and technical challenges, and contributes to the continual improvement of design processes and best practices.
What You'll Do

As the Design Team Manager, you will:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of talented Interior Designers.
• Monitor the progress of all active projects to ensure schedules, budgets, and client commitments are met.
• Identify potential project risks before they become problems and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with CAD Dept., Purchasing, Accounting, Warehouse, Installation, and executive leadership to keep projects moving efficiently.
• Maintain department standards for quality, documentation, communication, and client service.
• Develop and improve processes, workflows, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Coach team members, conduct performance reviews, and help develop future leaders.
• Create visibility through project tracking, dashboards, and key performance metrics.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate is a confident, organized leader with outstanding communication and project management skills.
• 8–10 years of management experience in Interior Design or a related field.
• Relevant education such as a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in Design Management, including oversight of multiple interior design projects and coordination of design deliverables.
• Strong Team Management skills, with experience leading, mentoring, and developing designers and cross-functional creative teams.
• Proficiency in Construction Drawings and understanding of documentation standards, detailing, and coordination with construction professionals.
• Advanced skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and familiarity with Architectural Design principles relevant to luxury residential interiors.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort working closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Installation teams to deliver completed spaces.
• Knowledge of current design trends, materials, and finishes, and the ability to translate client ideas into cohesive, buildable design solutions.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
