We are seeking a Design Assistant with strong drafting skills to support our design team in an in-person studio role. This position is ideal for a junior designer who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in contributing across furniture development, merchandising, and FF&E efforts—from early concepts through production and installation support.
Responsibilities
Assist the design team with furniture development, revisions, and production coordination
Produce and update technical drawings in AutoCAD for fabrication and internal review
Create and maintain 3D models using Rhino
Support design presentations, layouts, and visual materials using Adobe Creative Suite
Support FF&E tasks such as sourcing, spec sheets, schedules, and vendor coordination
Help with material research, specifications, and sample organization
Prepare drawings and files for prototyping, production, and manufacturer communication
Maintain organized digital files and adhere to studio drafting standards
Visual Merchandising & Execution
Support daily go-backs, swaps, vignette refreshes, layout updates
Assist with resets, installs, seasonal updates, and special projects
Maintain showroom standards and presentation quality
Collaborate with Director of Merchandising on styling and POV
Provide organizational and administrative support for the vintage program to ensure accurate cost tracking, documentation, and smooth coordination as vintage volume and complexity continue to grow.
Required Skills & Experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Experience with 3D modeling software (Rhino)
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Basic understanding of furniture construction, materials, and manufacturing processes
Familiarity with FF&E documentation, sourcing, or merchandising is a plus
Ability to produce clear, accurate, and build-ready drawings
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a studio environment
0–3 years of professional or internship experience in furniture design, interior design, industrial design, architecture, or a related field
Degree in a related design discipline preferred
