By presenting dreamlike images in a familiar context, the surrealists believed they could integrate subconscious thoughts into everyday life, ultimately elevating the human experience. Sugarhouse employed a similar ethos when designing the Cult Gaia store in Miami, where a towering figurative statue stands under a 7-foot-wide frameless oculus that opens up to the sky.
