On January 13, Stephan Weishaupt, who co-founded Avenue Road with designers George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg of Yabu Pushelberg, assumed full ownership of the company, He will continue to manage Avenue Road’s strategic direction.
Yabu Pushelberg will no longer be financial partners in the firm, but will continue to design furnishings for the brand, including a new textile collection to be released later this year.
“I would like to thank George and Glenn for their invaluable contribution and friendship over the years,” Weishaupt says. “Our shared vision and passion has enabled Avenue Road to become what it is today, and I am excited to be embarking with my team on a new trajectory that will bring further growth and unique design to Avenue Road.”
Some of Yabu Pushelberg’s acclaimed pieces include the Perry Street Boomerang sofa, Rua Ipanema chair, and most recently, the Park Place stool. “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Avenue Road, which has a special place in our hearts,” the duo says. “We look forward to its continued success under Stephan’s stewardship while being able to contribute more designs to its outstanding collection.”
