Cultivate, the kitchen inspiration website from Williams-Sonoma, has just introduced a helpful CounterTalk blog. After experiencing a few overwhelming kitchen remodeling projects, Katherine Rice, VP of business development at Williams-Sonoma Inc. and creator of Cultivate, felt there was a need for an online resource for curated kitchen design. Cultivate went live in February and the CounterTalk launched earlier this month.

CounterTalk is written by Sarah Latta, formerly of Coastal Living and Real Simple magazines. Contributors include Susan Serra and Steele Thomas Marcoux, another former Coastal Living writer.

Daily postings offer advice on countertop choices, storage ideas, and designer tips from across the country and around the world. Expect posts in categories like Save vs. Splurge, Renovation Diaries, and In the Kitchen With--a Q&A with a famous designer, chef or celebrity. Timed for the Olympics, interviews with athletes like beach volleyballers Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers reveal their kitchen and culinary preferences.

The site itself isn't ecommerce, and there are plenty of references to brands in the WSGC family like West Elm, but a compelling assortment of inspiring visuals and tips welcome to the heart of a home.
