The James Beard Foundation (JBF) has named its jury panel for next year’s James Beard Restaurant Design Awards. Restaurants, architects, interior designers and graphic designers are invited to submit any restaurant project that was completed or redone in North America since January 2014.

The jury includes Wendy Goodman, design editor at New York magazine; Stephanie Goto, architect and founder of Stephanie Goto; Andre Kikoski, founder of Andre Kikoski Architect and JBF Restaurant Design Award winner for The Wright; Bill Menking, founder and editor in chief of The Architect’s Newspaper; Charles Phan, chef/owner of JBF-winning Slanted Door and multiple nominee and JBF Award winner.

The jury was chosen by a committee staffed with architects, designers, design writers, editors and curators, and is this year headed by James Biber, principal of Biber Architects, New York; David Darling, a JBF Award winner and co-principal of Aidlin Darling Design, San Francisco; Dung Ngo, publisher of August Editions and editor at large for Rizzoli Publications, New York; and Chee Pearlman, design curator of TED Conferences, New York.

“The JBF Restaurant Design award, selected by an esteemed panel of designers, chefs, writers and restaurant owners, is the most selective and momentous in our world—the intersection of food and design,” says Biber, who is chairing the awards committee. “Past winners include the most important designers in the field, and the JBF Gala, at which they are announced, is the most spectacular gathering of the food community in the U.S.”

The deadline for entries is January 27.
