New website Designers & Books is scheduled to launch next week, February 1.
The site's mission is to publish lists of books that esteemed members of the design community identify as personally important, meaningful, and formative. These are books that have shaped the designers’ values, their worldview, and also their ideas about design.
The book lists of the designers and commentators include more than 650 titles and new book lists will be added weekly.
Design book lists of 50 interior designers and architects including: Shigeru Ban, Norman Foster, Michael Graves, Margaret McCurry, Richard Meier, Adam Tihany, Calvin Tsao, William Georgis and Deborah Sussman.
The site is founded by design consultant Steve Kroeter, who believes you are what you read. "There is a special relationship between designers and books—and good books can make your life better," he said.
