The Junior League of Miami and The Kampong, one of five tropical gardens and three preserves of the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Miami, Florida, are partnering on the 2016 Showhouse in Miami. Marking the 100th anniversary of The Kampong, the Junior League will reimagine rooms in four different buildings on The Kampong's property. Designers, architects and artists will transform Fairchild-Sweeney House, Curator’s Cottage, Barbour Cottage, Sausage Tree Cottage and grounds at The Kampong.

"Both the Junior League of Miami and The Kampong have long, storied histories in Miami," says Emilie Goldman Wernick, president of the Junior League of Miami. "This partnership is one that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. Not only will historic properties on The Kampong's property be restored, but the fundraiser will raise much-needed dollars for the women and children who benefit from the Junior League of Miami's programming and scholarships."

"The natural and historic splendor of The Kampong is the perfect venue for the Junior League of Miami Showhouse," says Peter Gardner, president, The Kampong Board of Governors. "Visitors will weave their way through our magnificent gardens to view rooms and spaces created by world-renowned interior designers. It's a win-win for everyone."

The Showhouse will be presented by Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables and Cutler Bay, and will be open to visitors April 7-24, 2016, Tuesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Learn more and learn how to apply as a designer.
