The New York Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association is a 2015 Habitat for Humanity Women Build ambassador. The association's Take a Seat fundraiser, held earlier this year, raised $10,000, securing a spot on the Habitat Women Build Team. Women Build 2015 is an outreach effort heralded by female professionals to support affordable housing in New York City. It brings New York City women together to build homes with low-income families, with leaders hailing from real estate, finance, media, technology, fashion, construction, design, entertainment and philanthropy sectors. Unfolding over several days this month, the "blitz build" will involve 25 or more Team Ambassadors, which recruit 10-women teams to raise $10,000. The fund-raising goal, $250,000 to $500,000, will help build homes in partnership with low-income families.

Andrea Algaze, IFDA vice president of programs and events, says, "Together IFDA NY and Habitat for Humanity are building hopes and furnishing dreams."
