In honor of her late father, Peggy Traub, daughter of former CEO and President of Bloomingdales Marvin Traub, donated a $10,000 gift to WithIt.

The donation made it possible for WithIt to launch its first-ever matching campaign for student scholarships. In order to jump-start this new fund, Traub offered to match two dollars for each dollar donated, up to the first $5,000.

“With talented students requiring financial assistance in order to complete their degrees, giving scholarships is one of WithIt’s highest priorities,” said Violette Forman, Vice President of the WithIt Scholarship Foundation.

WithIt has a strong history of supporting the industry by encouraging young women to pursue careers in the home furnishings industry. Students in every discipline of the industry have an opportunity to apply for the Marvin Traub Memorial Scholarship Fund.

“This matching gift opportunity fueled by a generous gift from Peggy will greatly enhance our efforts to encourage others to support our scholars,” said Forman. “By investing in our students today, our industries will earn dividends for decades to come.”

Traub co-founded Withit in 1997 in order to support women in the home and furnishings industries’ multi-dimensional career paths. It’s a not- for-profit network based in North Carolina and supported by many companies in the home and furnishings industries.
